Nigeria’s under-17 female national team, Flamingos coach, Bala Nkiyu has added his voice to permutations of the Super Eagles’ chances against Libya in Saturday’s Afirca Cup of Nation, and believes the visitors will be in Uyo with a false sense of confidence.
Nikyu stated in an interview with sports247.ng that the biggest undoing of the Libyans would be to think that they can handle the Eagles, simply because they top the group.
Heading into Saturday’s third match of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers, Libya stand atop Group E with four points, on goals difference ahead of South Africa, but Nigeria are third with three points.
Nikyu now reckons that the Libyans would be carried away by their leadership position and forget that it is action on the pitch that matters.
He said: “I am confident that the Libyans will be deceived by the virtue of the group they are topping when they face Nigeria this weekend in Uyo.
“But the truth is that, they might be topping Nigeria’s group, but they don’t have any option than to come, lose and go back to their country.”
