“I am still part of you. But it’s unfortunate that with all the efforts we put through, we still couldn’t escape relegation.
“However, we do know that many circumstances affected us, but you can never succeed in life without falling down, and your ability to stand up and move almost immediately is what makes you successful after everything.
“This Club is so dear to me because it’s one of the reasons I am a Permanent Secretary today.
“I have come here in my personal capacity to still identify myself with the Club and to assure you that the welfare of the Club will continue to be a priority for the State Government.
“The Governor of the State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has a deep love for sports, particularly football, and this he has demonstrated times without number on the Club’s official WhatsApp platform.
“From what I have seen today and what is likely to unfold very soon, I believe we are going to have a formidable team that can return the Club back to where it rightly belongs within the shortest possible time.
“I commend those of you who decided to stay with us. We cannot take this gesture for granted, because some came, saw but ran away, but you are here with us.
“I am optimistic that Nasarawa United FC will not sink, but remain together and afloat.
“Rest assured that we prioritize your welfare and security very seriously and we also require a replication of the gesture from you.
“Remain focused and concentrate on why you are here.
“I will interface with the Management of the Club soon to see how we can address some of your pressing needs.
“It’s not going to be business as usual as the Government will be very strict to ensure that the right things are done to move the Club forward.
“Let us know what your challenges are. And we call on all the critical stakeholders to join hands to make the team succeed.
“Finally, as you all know, we now have a new Commissioner in the Ministry. At the ripe time, he will visit the Team to familiarize with you and boost your morale.”
Captain of the Club and former Junior International, King Osanga(MON) was full of praises and appreciation for the Permanent Secretary for the visit and for addressing the fundamental issues of the team.
He said they are in high spirits to make a swift return to the elite domestic football league.
“We won’t leave any stone unturned in our quest to return to the Premier League. I can say the NPFL is our birthright; it’s where we deserve to be, and by the grace of God, we will deliver it.”
Osanga called on supporters of the Club to improve on their support to boost the morale of the players and coaches.
Nasarawa United will be playing their 2023/24 Nigeria National League home matches at the refurbished Lafia City Stadium, their original home ground.
