League Followers added that the contributions of Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi to Nigerian football cannot be overemphasized starting from playing time with Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan and later became the General Manager of the Club and later served as Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association
Chief Ogunjobi died on Monday morning at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.
Chief Ogunjobi, in the 1970s and 80s, was a football prodigy known as Skippo in his playing days, played for IICC Shooting Stars and Nigeria’s national team, then known as the Green Eagles.
After retiring from active play, Late Ogunjobi administered Shooting Stars in the 1990s before moving to the Nigeria Football Federation board where he served as the Sec Gen during the latter parts of Oneya administration and all through the Galadima era. He was Chairman of chairmen and chairman, Technical Committee during Lulu administration. Federation’s Secretary General during the reign of Sani Lulu Abdullahi.
League Followers therefore appeal to the government of the state of Osun to immortalise the late Icon and name a stadium after him as vacuum created by Osun born administrator would be difficult to fill.
