Followers of Naija made leagues received with sour taste the report of barbarism and violence from Akure Township Stadium where it was gathered that Chief Coach of Sunshine Stars, Kayode Julius allegedly attacked Lobi Stars Goal Keeper, Ospino Egbe in a rescheduled game.
According to the information from the official Twitter handle of Makurdi based side, Lobi Stars confirmed the reports as a “bizzare”.
“Bizzare scene in Akure, our GoalKeeper, Ospino Egbe down in serious pains after he was attacked by Sunshine FC of Akure Chief Coach, Kayode Julius before today’s rescheduled NPFL match,” the club twitted.
Further investigation by members of the *League Followers* who were at the venue revealed that the GoalKeeper was indeed assaulted by Sunshine Stars coach and was subsequently ruled out of the match. Lobi’s stars reserve goalie was later drafted in as a substitute for the first choice Goal keeper.
Media Officer of Akure Whales, Chris Okunnuwa in a phone call confirmed to us that the situation is still under investigation even though the coach has been suspended. Affirming this in the offical Twitter handle of Akure Gunners : “the management of Sunshine Stars FC has handed Coach Kayode Julius immediate suspension for improper conduct during the build up to the rescheduled League match with Lobi Stars”
Football loving Nigerians have therefore reacted to the ugly and demarketable act of Chief Coach Kayode Julius thus:
“This is totally unacceptable and shameful. watching out for NFF reaction to this shameful act”
*Ogbuson*
Very unprofessional of Coach Julius Kayode. Im personally disappointed in him
*Mark Agbo Oguche*
Most of his characters appear too unprofessional. I have encountered him more than two occasions.
*Don Dero*
If the information is true then it’s a shame. As coaches and athletes, we should be a role model to others.
*Eddy Dombraye* (Arsenal Youth Coach— Ukraine)
The management has openly condemned his attitude and even placed him on suspension. Let be calm please
*Owosport*
I think the management should sack him and not suspension. He even attacked me too in Lagos
*Olamide Ilupeju*
Now, I have been informed by two of our members at the Akure Township stadium about the above incidence that the Coach did hit the goal keeper badly and the club has taken action against Coach Julius Kayode with suspension. Please let’s be patient and hear from the side of the management of Lobi Stars or Coaching crew before we issue out release

League Followers therefore call on the management of Nigeria League to please as a matter of urgency investigate this ugly development and the disciplinary Committee of the elite league should descend its hammers on Coach Kayode Julius (if truly guilty of the offence) and be barned from football related activities for 10 years
LMC should evolve a crusade against act of hooliganism and shenanigans in our match venues such as signages and inscriptions. As a matter of fact, some of our so called Club owners do Sponsor their touts to harras innocent match officials, referees, blunt journalists and opposing teams. We would appreciate if punitive measures will be sacrosanct in the law book
Hinged on the above, Nigeria Football Coaches Association, NFCA should as a matter of responsibility and Commitment to the growth of our league dig deep on this shameful scenario and take appropriate measures against this act from their members. Withdrawal of certificate from such a Coach would go a long way in checking others
While we thank you sincerely for your patience for the duration of the investigation, kindly be bold enough to report any act of violence in our match venues and we would not conceal any act that may put our league into disrepute.
