The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, LASUBEB, has advocated for a new approach to monitoring of activities of teachers in Lagos Schools by education Quality Assurance Officers.
The Chairman, LASUBEB, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King solicited that Quality Assurance Officers should be more diligent in their duties, urging them to adopt corrective measures for erring officers than punishments that may not always bring about the expected changes in the education sector.
Alawiye-King, who made the appeal recently when he hosted Basic Education Quality Assurance, BEQA, officers in his Maryland office, stated that empathy and concern about the plight of teachers could turn out a better measure in correcting the lapses observed while carrying out their official duties.
He also underscored the need for the BEQA officers to be proactive in work delivery while keying into the progress of the digital world for effective work delivery.
