Lagos State’s FA Cup Winner Can Reach Semi-final This Year At National Level, Dotun Coker Predicts

The vice-chairman of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Honourable Dotun Coker has expressed optimism that one of their teams can go all the way to the semi-finals of this year’s Federation Cup, Sports247 reports.

Coker, who is also a former technical director of LSFA, pointed out that Lagos teams have made gradual progressions each year in the Federation Cup, such that they could take one more step further this year.

Although he admitted some worries over the inability of a Lagos-based club to win the Federation Cup in recent editions, Coker enthused that, since one of their teams reached the quarter-finals last year, they are bound to hit the last four this time out.

“We are disturbed but, at the same time, we are hopeful this time around. This is because we’ve had it good in the last two years. We got into the quarter-finals stage last year and I know, by the end of this session, I’m sure we’re going to improve on it. We are disturbed, but I believe we are going to get there,” Coker submitted with optimism.

He also expressed hope that this year’s Lagos State FA Cup will be exciting, glamorous and highly competitive, so that any team that emerges as champion with make The Centre Of Excellence proud at the national level.
