Fatodu stated at length, “To the donor, Chief Kessington Adebutu, we say thank you for your generosity. We hope that you will continue to respond to us when we come to you.
“One other response is that opening this facility is a testament to the commitment and ability of Mr. Governor to keep his promise of improving the face of infrastructure within the sports ecosystem of Lagos State.
“This also answers many questions from our friends in the media about the status of sports facilities in Lagos State. There’s a common saying that the morning tells how the day will be. From today, there will not be any questions or doubt about the future of sports infrastructure in Lagos State.”
Fatodu went on to express satisfaction that the emergence of the new structure at Rowe Park, Yaba serves up a very positive pointer that sports facilities will continue to emerge in Lagos State, especially through the private sector.
“I am sure that this facility encompasses and answers all questions from our friends in the media about facilities in Lagos State. It is a finality that puts an end to doubts surrounding sports infrastructure in Lagos State.
“It also depicts the power of collaboration between the public sector and private sector. The public sector provides the engine room, and the private sector backs it up. It’s an important contribution from the private sector.
It’s very historical, and the message will resonate about the dreams of the past that are being brought into the present. The glory is not lost. The onus and responsibility are now on everyone to maintain this facility properly,” Fatodu admonished.
