Staff underwent thorough medical examinations, including assessments of height, weight, blood pressure, random blood sugar levels, and dental checks.
The objective behind this health initiative is to foster awareness of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, aligning with the commission’s commitment to overall well-being in preparation for the upcoming end-of-the-year Fiesta Games.
The scheduled week is set to include diverse sporting events, commencing with Handball, Volleyball, Five A Side, Beach Badminton, Abula, Basketball, Tug of War, Table Tennis, Ayo, Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly, and other Board Games.
Oluwatoyin Gafaar, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, emphasized that the medical outreach was strategically designed to ensure staff members are aware of their health and fitness status, enabling effective management of any existing conditions.
“We are involved in sports both physically and mentally, but regardless, it’s essential to check our medical fitness. The medical outreach for the staff is a compulsory starting point for our celebration week,” Gafaar stated.
He further added, “This initiative is not only about physical health but also includes providing an opportunity for all staff members to undergo dental checks, reinforcing their readiness to represent the commission effectively.”
