“We will start the program very soon and are proud of our champions. When approved, we want it to be a two-day program.
We will set targets, find the best talent, and train them for a month before heading to Ibadan,” he said.
Reflecting on Lagos State’s performance in previous youth games, Coach Adeshina noted the team’s consistent second-place finishes, just behind Delta State.
This year, he is optimistic about clinching the top spot. “We have a good team in Lagos State, supported by the Lagos State government and the Lagos State Sports Commission. Our goal this year is to overtake Delta and become first overall in Asaba,” he stated confidently.
The coach also acknowledged the support from the new chairman and the technical committee, praising their dedication to the team’s success.
“The new chairman and the technical committee have been very supportive, ensuring we have everything we need to prepare the team.
We aim to have strong under-13 and under-15 teams ready for good competition,” Coach Adeshina added.
With a focused training program and solid support from the state, Lagos State is poised to make a significant impact at the youth games in Asaba, aiming for its best performance yet.
