After the dissolution of 40 Boards Of Lagos State Sports Associations, Prince Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, Senior Special Assistant on Sports to Lagos State Governor spoke to Sports247 about what to expect of the new board that was set up.
“We have a proactive governor who has a passion for sports. We have been trying to put things in place but for this pandemic, hopefully, it will be over soon and you will see a lot of lined up activities from Lagos state, from the Lagos State Sports Commission,” honourable Anthony said.
“Very soon we’ll make the achievement of being the state to be marked and mapped when talking about the marathon in the country and also globally. We’ve been making an impact and we’re going to bring the Super Eagles back to Lagos after twelve years of absence,” he added.
“As we all know, Lagos is the centre of excellence, Lagos is the hub of sports in this country and you’re going to see a different thing from Lagos state and our sports commission this year,” he concluded.
The SSA also spoke about his passion for Football which has seen him become a major contributor to the welfare of Smart City FC in the Ikeja Divisional League.
“Once you have love and passion for football, you have to encourage your players, make them happy and give them the best incentives, that’s why my players are doing well. We’re trying our best which may not be so much but so far when talking about academies in Lagos, we’re trying our best,” honourable Anthony said.
He also hinted that soon, with other things put properly in place, Lagos is likely to see his side, Smart City FC play in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
