The recent moves by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to get sporting activities back on track after the approval of the codes by the Federal Government would certainly not catch Lagos State Sports Commission and its athletes unaware.
This was the optimism expressed by the Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor on Sports, Prince Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, while speaking with Sports Chronicle Magazine, exclusively in an online interview.
“We are ready to resume sporting activities as soon as the lockdown on social activities, particularly, sports eases.
” We are primed for the resumption of the sports calendar. Even during the lockdown, we have maintained a strong and steady communication with our athletes and officials on how to stay safe during this tumultuous period, as well as maintain their fitness and health levels,” Adeboye disclosed.
He restated the desires of the state to regain its pride of place in Nigerian sports. Adding that the Lagos State government is leaving no stones unturned to actualise its avowed T.H.E.M.E.S agenda and using sports, as a veritable tool to develop the potentials of youths in the state.
