The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) is finalizing preparations for its highly anticipated Annual General Assembly (AGA), set to take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Lagos. The event, beginning at 9 a.m., is expected to draw significant attention from key figures in the state’s football community.
In an official letter, LSFA Secretary Akeem Rabiu-Okikiopusu invited all State FA members, Congress Members, stakeholders, and representatives from the Coaches and Referees Associations to attend the AGA.
This gathering will be conducted in accordance with Article 20, subsection 4 of the LSFA Statutes as amended, ensuring compliance with the organization’s governing principles.
Rabiu-Okikiopusu emphasized the importance of the AGA in his message: “The AGA is a crucial event for us as it provides an opportunity to reflect on our achievements, discuss challenges, and plan for the future of football in Lagos State.” He added that the subsequent ‘Football Town Hall Meeting,’ set to begin at 11 a.m. at the same venue, will expand the conversation to include a broader audience, fostering a collaborative environment for all involved in the sport.
The venue for both events will be confirmed and communicated to all participants shortly.
The AGA will cover a range of important topics, including administrative updates, financial reports, and upcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing football development across Lagos State.
The Football Town Hall Meeting is expected to serve as an open forum, allowing stakeholders to share ideas, voice concerns, and contribute to the strategic growth of football at all levels within the state.
This combination of events is seen as a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the LSFA and the wider football community, ensuring that the sport continues to thrive and evolve in Lagos.
