The stage is set for a pulsating climax on Sunday at the 2019 GTBank Lagos Polo International Tournament, which galloped off on Wednesday, sports247.ng reports.
The first stage of the prestigious competition continued on Thursday and Friday, with more games to hold on Saturday and the first round final is billed for Sunday.
Action began in midweek with Lagos Machines and Kaduna Tila Farms winning in the Silver Cup category.
Nakudu’s Idris Ahmed scored the first goal with a low shot to make up for his incredible open miss earlier as the Machines fell on the back foot.
Olumide Agboola responded immediately before Useni Mohammed restored Nakudu’s lead, as Machines defeated Kano Nakudu 8-4 while Tila beat Lagos Lameana 6-0.
In the day’s second match, Aliyu Tijani scored twice while Hassan Ramadan also hit target in the first chukka, as Tila Farms took total control of their match against Lagos Lameana.
The second chukka was identical to the first, with the guests dominating but poor finishing prevented them from stretching their advantage as Ramadan widened the lead to 4-0, and the one-sided match ended 6-0.
