A group of retired footballers who plied their trades in Lagos State, under the aegis of Lagos Legends Club (LCC), last Friday, paid a condolence visit, as well as, signed the condolence register opened to the public, at the family house of late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, in Magodo, Lagos.

The ex-footballers led by the Covener of LLC, Eng. Waidi Akanni, met and condoled with members of the family of the deceased. According to Akanni, the news of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah‘s death has remained a debilitating shock to the himself and millions of Nigerians both home and in diaspora.
In an emotion laden tone, Akanni, who was a former Nigeria international player, described the late Ubah, as a kind-hearted and patriotic Nigerian, who had lofty plans for the betterment of the Nigerian people.
“Late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, was a very good and kind-hearted man, who touched millions of lives positively. He was a detribalised Nigerian, who had great hopes and plans for a better Nigeria.
“Nigeria would miss him, and indeed, the football community would miss him. I’m sad that he is no more, but I take solace in the fact, that he lived a good life, Akanni said.
Other ex-footballers who were part of the delegation that visited the family, spoke in unison, as they praised the late businessman and philanthropist for his huge contributions to the Nigerian society, using sports, particularly football, as a tool of empowerment.
They prayed that God grant his soul eternal rest, as they also prayed that God grant the family, strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
