The Lagos Legends Club has thrown their weights of support behind the Lagos state-based that would participate in the Nigeria National League (NNL), which kicks this weekend.
The convener of Lagos Legends club, Waidi Akanni, in a release stated the three Lagos-based teams would enjoy massive support to help them achieve their promotion dreams to the NPFL. The teams are Vandrezzer FC, Ikorodu City FC and Ottassolo FC.
” As a group, we would be watching all the home games of these teams live and give them massive support to help them make Lagos a lion’s den to all visiting teams to Lagos,” declared Akanni a former Nigeria international star player.
Akanni, who was also a former Lagos FA chairman added, “We believe our presence in all their home games would greatly help these teams, just as we shall also be assisting them technically.”
He went ahead to enjoin the organizers of the league, as well as the officials to be firm and adhere to the rule books to make the league better.
Former Nigerian striker and prominent member of LLC, Victor Agali, expresses the readiness of the group of ex-footballers who once plied their trades in Lagos, to give total support to the Lagos-based teams during all their home matches.
“We’re bent on ensuring that the glorious days of football in Lagos return. Therefore, we’ll be on the ground to fully support these and ensure they make it to the premier league, ” he stated.
In his words, former Super Eagles mercurial midfielder Friday Ekpo remarked that with concerted efforts and unflinching support, the Lagos teams would excel in this year’s NNL.
” We want Lagos state teams in the NNL to do very well in the league. We also understand that they can’t do it alone. Therefore, we’ve resolved to support them massively, and also provide them with technical assistance, when necessary,” Ekpo stated.
Meanwhile, Vandrezzer would kick off their campaign this weekend at home against Bendel Insurance at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
