The newly elected Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has announced its unwavering
support for Madiba FC, a Lagos-based club, in their bid to secure a spot in the Nigeria
Premier League Football League (NPFL).
Following Madiba’s resounding 6-0 victory over Ebedei in their recent home game at the
Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, LSFA Chairman Fuad Oki expressed his
endorsement of the team and urged them to bring top-flight league matches back to the
state.
Chairman Oki assured Madiba FC of the full backing of the Lagos State FA, emphasizing
their commitment to assisting the team in achieving success. He further pledged that Mr.
Lamidi Gafar, the vice-chairman of LSFA, would lead a delegation from the state to support Madiba FC in their upcoming match against Ekiti United.
“Do not be afraid. You must bring the Premier League to Lagos State. We will stand by your side and ensure that no official or external interference robs us of our victory. In Ekiti, you will showcase your skills and continue the winning streak that you have initiated,” Oki affirmed.
In their previous game against FC Ebedei, Madiba FC exhibited a dominant performance,
securing an impressive 6-0 victory. The team showcased their attacking prowess, with
Solomon Aliu contributing two goals, while Egbonwon Harrison and Sunday Fadeyi also
found the back of the net.
Shola Oladunjoye and Babatunde Shaibu further added to the goal tally during the second
half. With this commanding win, Madiba FC rose to the second position in the league
standings, amassing a total of 14 points. Currently, they trail only Abeokuta Stormers, who lead the NNL Group B3 with 17 points, having completed all their league matches.
As Madiba FC heads into the final games of the season, they will travel to Ekiti to face Ekiti United on Saturday. This match will be crucial in determining their final standing and their prospects of securing promotion to the NPFL.
With the staunch support of the LSFA, Madiba FC aims to maintain their winning momentum and fulfill their aspiration of securing a place in the prestigious Nigeria Premier League.
The team is motivated to bring back top-tier football to Lagos State and make their mark in the national football scene.
