President of the Nigeria Referees’ Association Tade Azeez has called for democracy in all spheres of life especially in sports and has urged other bodies to allow for democratic process in their election so as to allow room for anyone to aspire to become whoever they want to become and add value to Nigerian football.
The referees’ chief was elected into office in 2015 made this call at the referee’s electoral congress at the swan secretariat on Tuesday, stating that the process to organize the national election is in on.
He said. “The electoral process in Lagos was free and fair and there was no rancor after the elections. This is what it should be like. People choosing who they want and not that anyone is forced on them. I hope every state chapter will learn from what Lagos has done already, it is a step in the right direction.”
