Motiva Sports has unveiled the Footprints to Greatness (F2G) Football Tournament & Youth Empowerment Program, which has been duly endorsed by Lagos State Football Association.
The groundbreaking initiative aimed at shaping the future of young Nigerians through football, vocational training, and life skills development.
Kicking off with a symposium later this month, the program targets young people aged 16-25, offering them a structured pathway to personal and professional growth.
The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) has officially endorsed the initiative, recognizing its potential to transform lives.
LSFA Chairman, Alhaji Liameed Gafar, commended the program’s vision, stating: “Football is more than a game; it is a tool for social change.
“This initiative by Motiva Sports provides an incredible opportunity for young talents to not only develop their skills on the pitch but also gain knowledge that will serve them well beyond football.
“The Lagos FA is proud to support this program, as it aligns with our goal of fostering youth development through sports.”
The F2G program is structured to provide a well-rounded experience, combining competitive football with vocational training in digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and skilled trades.
Additionally, participants will engage in workshops on emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and career mentorship, ensuring they are well-equipped for the future.
Male and female teams will register at different IBILE Zone levels—Island, Badagry, Ikorodu, Ikeja, and Epe—competing within their regions before advancing.
The quartet finalists from each zone will emerge to compete in the main tournament, creating a pathway for top talents to showcase their skills on a bigger stage.
According to Babajimi Ogunlana, CEO of Motiva Sports, F2G is about creating opportunities that extend beyond the football field.
“We have designed F2G as a platform where young Nigerians can dream bigger and work towards tangible goals,” Ogunlana said.
“Through football, they learn discipline and teamwork, but we are also giving them the skills to excel in various careers.
“Our goal is to empower these youths with knowledge, confidence, and access to opportunities that can change their lives.”
The program will feature a thrilling football tournament, allowing participants to showcase their talents in front of scouts, FIFA-licensed agents, and technical directors.
Football legends Chief Segun Odegbami, Etim Esin and Ifeanyi Udeze will headline the opening symposium, sharing insights on youth development and the road to professional success.
Motiva Sports is already collaborating with key government bodies, including the Lagos State Sports Commission, the Ministry of Youth & Social Development, and the Ministry of Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation, to ensure the program’s success.
With football as its foundation and skill development as its core, F2G is set to leave a lasting impact on the next generation of Nigerian talent.
The F2G Cup is expected to hold in the 1st week of April 2025.
