President of Utility Sports Football Club, Abiodun Lawal has charged his players and coaching crew to keep on working in order to reach their set target in the ongoing Lagos State Challenge Cup .
Lawal disclosed this after his team defeated Mighty Bay 3-2 in one of the rooky matches played on Wednesday at the legacy pitch national stadium, Surulere.
Lawal commended his boys for their hard fought victory against their opponents but reminded them the task ahead in the next round of the competition.
“It was a good game as we started on a high note.My boys gave their best to achieve positive result and i commend them for their resilience, doggedness and fighting spirits exhibited throughout the encounter.
“Having studied the game as a club president and coach, my boys still need to keep working in their subsequent matches.We have tough matches ahead but with determination and prayers, we can go far in the tournament,”he said.
Asked if there are teams he wants to avoid in the Lagos FA Cup, Abiodun said he is not afraid of any team saying that his team are in FA Cup for business.
“Like i said before, we just came back from Ijebu-Ode for training tour and we played tough teams including NLO teams and i am happy that we gave our opponents a run for their money.Playing in FA Cup is to come and fight any club that come our way,”he said.
In other results, AYICRIP NELIS lost 2-5 to Sporting Club Heritage FC,Recovery House FC also suffered 1 -4 defeat to City of Lagos as Zion Int FC thrashed Fresh Talents FC 8-2.
