President Sporting Royal Football Club, Igbasan Opeyemi has declared his intention to run for the chairman seat of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA)
Opeyemi in a statement said he is coming out to contest for the position in order to reposition the dwindling fortunes of football and footballers in the state.
“Let me say it officially that I have decided to run for the Lagos FA Chairman position. I am contesting this position because of the passion I have for the game, and secondly, my plans are to bring better innovations and idea to the football environment in the state and also to develop the game in Lagos to a viable commercial level,” he said.

“Affiliated football coaches and other football stakeholders are in my plans. I have observed our football coaches over the years that they are not well taken care of. I have drawn a programme for these affiliated coaches, and they would be part of my administration. Also, I am going to pay attention to club owners, grassroots players and other football stakeholders in my tenure,” he said.
“During my tenure as a chairman, I would create employment opportunities for our affiliated coaches in the state which I will do through Lagos State Football Coaches Association and ensure that grassroots football is growing fast in the state,” he said.
He also said that league teams in the state would not be neglected but ensure that his administration would give them necessary support to do well in their outings.
“Let me say this,If I am elected as chairman of state FA, all our league clubs in the state starting from the NLO, NNL and women premier league would be supported financially,” he said.
