In preparation for fast approaching Surulere League, G12 FC clashed with Box 2 Box FC in a game that ended 0-0.
In the aftermath of the tie, coach of G12 FC Christian Ikechukwu Isiekwene said that both teams where on per in terms of level of performance.
“Today’s game between G12 and Box 2 Box was highly tactical. The approach of the game was so high, the intensity was high. Both teams played very well defensively and offensively.” he told Sports247.
Isiekwene went on to rue missed chances as the reason for a goalless draw and termed the encounter between the two as ‘Lagos’ el clasico’.
“The game between G12 and Box 2 Box is always like a Derby. It’s like Lagos El Clasico. So I expected that from today’s game.”
Prior to this game, G12 had won their previous round of fixtures including 7-3 thumpings of Jumez FC and Danaz FC.
“This is the only game we’ve played that we did not score and we did not concede which is a good test for us. So from today’s game we are going to prepare more.” Isiekwene said.
With the Surulere League by the corner, he believes his boys are gearing up towards full fitness ahead of the regional tournament.
“My team are 60% ready for Surulere League and we have two weeks to prepare. I know before the league starts we would be fully prepared.”
