Chairman Lagos Divisional Football Association, LDFA, Akintunde Tinubu says the current 2021/22 LDFA League would expose the players to bigger clubs within and outside the country.
Tinubu disclosed this while he led the board members of LDFA to witness the opening match of the league which kicked off on Thursday at the Railway Institute football pitch, Yaba,Lagos.
The opening league match was played between Melody Football Club and Tico Football Club.It ended 2-1 in favour Tico FC.
Speaking with sports 247.ng, Tinubu said he was satisfied with the level of commitment of the teams and charged the football scouts to see the league as a platform where they can scout for good young players for trials abroad.
“I am happy that our league has finally kicked off and what i saw today showed that we have players that are marketable for big clubs.My wish and joy is to see some of our players to get bigger clubs within and outside the country at the end of the league,”he said.
Tinubu however admonished the players to remain committed to their teams and be a good ambassadors of their clubs.
Commenting on LDFA plans for the New Year, the football adminstrator said the division would embark on training and retraining of coaches, secondly organising a seminar for the refrees and seeking for sponsorship to organise a developmental programmes that would be of immense benefits to the affiliated clubs within the division.
14 clubs are currently participating in the ongoing LDFA league.In the matches played so far, Triple AG defeated Triumph 2-0 as Ante international played 2-2 with Tinubu FC.
