Chief Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu’s generous sponsorship, alongside the Lagos State Sports Trust Fund’s oversight, made this transformation possible.
This milestone marks a new era for aquatic sports in Lagos, providing athletes with top-tier training infrastructure while promoting an active lifestyle within the community.
Simultaneously, the state also commissioned a cutting-edge boxing gym at Teslim Balogun Stadium, built through the generosity of Mr. Imonlei Yakubu Imadu. This gym is set to become a breeding ground for future champions, offering boxers a first-class environment to hone their skills.
“These accomplishments reflect our broader vision of a Lagos where every athlete—on land, in water, or in the ring—has access to top-tier facilities and opportunities for growth,” said Lekan Fatodu, Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission.
With these developments, Lagos continues to set the pace in sports infrastructure, further cementing its status as a hub for athletic excellence in Nigeria.
