LAB Memorial Football Carnival Season 3 saw, 36 Lions FC edged out Arepo Bombers FC in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Despite the loss, Arepo Bombers’ striker, Oliha Jerry, who was a key player in the match, shared his insights and views on the game and the tournament.

Reflecting on the match, Jerry acknowledged the unpredictable nature of penalty shootouts. “Well, a penalty is a game of luck, anybody can win,” he said. He highlighted the team’s resilience in coming back from a goal down to draw the match 1-1 in regular time. However, he expressed disappointment at losing in the penalty shootout, vowing that the team would perform better next time.
Jerry also shared his impressions of the tournament. “I’m so impressed with the tournament, the turn up, the organisers, and the very good organizing,” he stated. This was Arepo Bombers’ debut outing in the tournament, adding to the significance of their performance.
When asked about his takeaway from the experience, Jerry emphasized the importance of exposure in football. “Exposure is what matters in football. You have to go out and play, so exposure is the most important thing,” he said.
