The LAB Memorial Football Competition saw Rechabite FC stormed to a 4-1 victory over Hempel F.A. The team’s coach, Olusola Abiodun, was brimming with pride and satisfaction at the result.
Abiodun attributed the victory to the team’s rigorous training and learning. “Actually, after the loss last year, we went back to the drawing board, and we corrected our mistakes that we noticed, and that’s the result of what we have done,” he said. He highlighted the team’s improved scoring ability as a key factor in their win.
“This year, we have to go back and work on our scoring ability, and that’s what we see today,” he stated.
Looking ahead, Abiodun expressed high hopes for his team in the tournament. “Well, by the grace of God, we are going to improve on today’s performance. You will see a better Rechabite FC when you come on Saturday,” he confidently stated.
Abiodun also had words of praise for the organisers of the LAB Memorial tournament. He described the tournament as one of the best in Lagos state, highlighting the improvements in organisation each year and the increase in participating teams.
“Last year, we were 8 teams and this year, we are 16 teams. And with more goodies attached to it, everybody in this LAB memorial tournament, everybody is a winner. Nobody goes home empty-handed,” he said.
With such a strong start and a determined coach at the helm, Rechabite FC is certainly a team to watch in this year’s LAB Memorial Football Competition.
