In a heart-stopping penalty shootout at the LAB Memorial Carnival Season 3, Ajayi Olushola, the goalkeeper of Mighty Stars FC, rose to the occasion, saving two crucial penalty kicks and securing victory for his team.

Mighty Stars FC faced off against Collins Edwin in the semi-final, which ended in a deadlock at 0-0 by full time, leading to a tense penalty shootout.
Reflecting on his stellar performance, Ajayi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to his team’s success.
“It was a great privilege for me to be the keeper of the team and save those penalties,” he remarked in a post-match interview with Sports 247.
“During the game, it was very difficult and there was a lot of pressure from the opponent, but we had to be confident and believe in ourselves that we could do it, and here we are through to the final.”
Ajayi Olushola also acknowledged the unwavering support of the fans throughout the tournament, whose encouragement served as a morale boost for the team.
“You can see the outburst from the fans showing their love and boosting our morale,” he added.
Recognizing the unpredictable nature of football, Ajayi Olushola remained humble in victory, acknowledging that success on the pitch can vary from one day to the next.
“Sometimes as a footballer, it can be your day and another day might not be yours,” he concluded.
