“At first I was really nervous because I was seeing different people that look taller than me and they have more of an athletic build. But when I started running and I got first place, I just felt confident,” Frances shared about her experience.
Mary Frances has been running since primary school and her motivation to compete stems from her desire to be known as an athlete. “I’ve been running since primary school and I just felt that kind of talent that I had, like, okay, I’m able to run. I’m able to run faster than other people. So I thought, let me just start competing in more events and let’s see how far it will take me in future,” she said.
This victory has not only boosted her confidence but also set her on a path towards more victories and goals in the future. “What I’m taking away from this competition is just more victories and more goals that I’m going to set myself in the future. Because in the future I want to be an athlete and that makes me more confident. Like, I’m on that path, I’m following that path and I should not limit myself,” she affirmed.
Mary Frances’ victory in the LAB Memorial competition is a testament to her athletic prowess and competitive spirit. Her story serves as an inspiration for young athletes everywhere, reminding them to believe in themselves and never limit their abilities.
