Kwara United management, staff and the entire coaching crew have commiserated with the family, friends and football stakeholders over the untimely death of Journalist Anthony Obaseki.
Nigerian sporting families woke up on Sunday, November 1, to hear the devastating news of the demise of Anthony Obaseki.
Obaseki before his death battled against serious sickness in which football stakeholders had hope that he would recover.
But the Prince of Benin Kingdom lost the battle throwing the whole football fraternities in Nigeria into serious mourning.
In an official statement by Kwara United, the Harmony Boys described the deceased as an hardworking and dedicated Sports reporter during his life time.
“It is sad to hear the death of our friend Anthony Obaseki and we are praying that God should give him eternal rest and also be with his family,” Kwara United stated.
Obaseki started his Journalism career in Ibadan with FRCN and later transited to print where he had stint with Complete Sports.
Before the illness which took him to the journey of no return came, Obaseki also worked with National Daily Newspaper and was also media officer of Nembe City and El-Kanemi.
He hailed from the Obaseki family of Benin Kingdom in Edo state and maternally Urhobo from Ovwian in Udu LGA of Delta state.
