Kwara United commiserate with Nasarawa United over tragic death of Martins

The management, staff, coaching crew and players of Kwara United have commiserated with fellow NPFL campaigners Nasarawa United over the untimely death of their player Chieme Martins.

Entire football fraternities in Nigeria were on Sunday afternoon thrown into deep mourning and serious unsettled state of minds when the death of Martins was announced.

Chieme Martins slumped on the pitch in which efforts to revive his life were futile as he was later pronounced dead in the hospital.

The heartbreaking incident happened while Nasarawa United were facing Katsina United in which they won 3-0 at the Lafia Township stadium.

“We wish to sympathize with Nasarawa United, friends, associates and family of the deceased and we wish that God will give them the strength to bear the loss.

“It is sad losing such a promising player whose dream of becoming great has now been ended. Please accept our condolence,” the statement from Kwara United explained.

Meanwhile, Nasarawa United have now moved out of the relegation zone in a great transformation of success since Issac Danladi returned as the chairman of the club.

The Solid Miner are now occupying 13th position on the NPFL log and they will be traveling to Ilorin on Sunday, March 22, to face Kwara United.
