The Chairman of Kwara Football Association Mallam Idris Musa has reassured that the football pitch of the state stadium complex will be ready for use, in no distant time.
Mallam Idris confirmed this exclusively to Abdul Momoh yesterday during an inspection on the ongoing project.
Recall that the pitch is under rehabilitation as its artificial turf is being changed into natural grass so as to meet up with the global standard.
This development has saw the state football club, Kwara United playing their home matches in Akure, Ondo State in the ongoing NPFL season.
The Chairman therefore asserted positively that the football club will continue playing their matches on their home pitch from the beginning of next season.
“We are working seriously to ensure the pitch ready for use, you can see the first mowing was done this morning (yesterday) and this will continue in every 2 weeks. I can assure you that Kwara United will play their matches here next season” he said.
Meanwhile, football fans in the state have been showering encomiums on the state FA for the innovation while specially appreciating AU Mustapha who is the sponsor of the project.
Mr Olatunde Ibrahim in an interview said the pitch when completed will attract international matches and improve the economic activities of the state.g
According to him, stakeholders, fans, traders will be very happy seeing activities resume at the stadium.
