The Kwara state football association has confirmed the 2020 edition of Ogunjobi Gold Cup will be played behind closed doors.
A statement by the FA Chairman, Malam Idris Musa Abdullahi on Wednesday morning through his Special Adviser on Media, Bolaji Lawal, said the FA are leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum compliance with guidelines on football activities as being explained by the Nigeria Football Federation.
The message read that only the competing teams alongside game officials, stakeholders, and a small portion of the Media will be given access to the stadium on match days.
He explained that no gate takings or any form of gaining entry inside the stadium will be allowed as he pleaded with football enthusiasts to oblige with the latest development, saying the development was borne out of the NFF decision to hold the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers involving Nigeria and Sierra Leone behind close doors.
The FA noted that all Covid-19 guiding protocols will be fully observed at the championship and call on football enthusiasts for their usual cooperation, saying the association are working tenaciously to bring things back to normal.
