Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Malam Idris Musa Abdullahi has weighed in on Kwara United’s 3-0 win against visiting AS Douanes de Niamey of Niger Republic, describing the result as astonishing, saying the stellar performance signals that football is heading towards the right direction in the state.
Mallam Idris, who monitored the game in Lagos, commended the team management, players and officials for putting in a solid shift against the Nigeriens, scoring three goals without reply going into the second leg.
He applauded Mallam Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman, and all other stakeholders including Mallam Salihu Mustapha and dignitaries who trump Lagos in large numbers for their stern support to the team before, during and after the continental game.
The FA Boss expressed without doubt they will not relent ahead of the second leg fixture coming up next week in Niger to ensure a safe passage to the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
