The Kwara State Football Association North Central Nigeria has cleared ten candidates to contest for the posts of Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and other board positions in the elections billed for June 13.

Two candidates cleared to contest for the chairmanship position during the elections are Idris Musa and Olaide Ahmed, while Kayode Bankole has been cleared to vie for the position of Vice-Chairman.
Seven other candidates cleared to contest for the Board member positions are Segilola Alaya, Adeshina Bello, Wasiu Lawal, Tunde Sanni, Manzuma Maliki, Abubakar Ahmed, and Salaudeen Jimoh.
Speaking at the end of the screening exercise, the Chairman of the Kwara Football Association Elections Screening Committee, Sule Abbas-Ahmed, said the exercise was well conducted.
“This is in accordance with the electoral guidelines, Code, and Statutes of the Football Association,” he said.
Abbas-Ahmed applauded all the contestants for their orderly conduct and cooperation.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Kwara Football Association Electoral Committee, Dada Obafemi, promised that the committee would conduct free and fair elections.
Obafemi advised the stakeholders to be law-abiding before, during, and after the elections, adding that this was necessary as Kwara is known as the “State of Harmony”.
