Kwara athletes have frowned at the ill fated treatment accorded to them at the just concluded Toyin Saraki Baseball/Softball competition in Ilorin, sports247.ng can report.
Some of the female athletes attacked the organisers of the competition for not appreciating them despite the huge amount of money they collected for the championship.
“We are not happy with the way organizers of competition treat us,” one of the athletes who pleaded anonymity informed Sports247.ng.
“They see us as slaves which isn’t the best at all. We know our rights and will make case for it.”
“Organizers were given huge sum of money to ensure that the Toyin Saraki Baseball/Softball competition was a successful one. We don’t understand why they are playing a new tone to us.”
“We are using this medium to cry out to those that bankrolled this competition to come to our aid.”
This will be the third time in two months that Kwara athletes have complained about lack of proper care from organisers of competitions.
The first one was at the National Youth Games in Ilorin, while the second protest was when athletes staged a protest at the Kwara State House of Assembly .
