Kwara FA Chairman Idris Musa who is popularly known as “Turaya” has explained the superb relationship he has maintained for years with Kwara United chairman Kumbi Titiloye.
Kumbi Titiloye was recently appointed the new chairman of Kwara United by Governor Abdulrahman thereby replacing outgone Prince Oladimeji Thompson.
Turaya has always been seen with Kumbi since the former KFA director became Kwara United boss, and the FA Chairman has cleared the air on their relationship.
He explained that Kumbi Titiloye has been his childhood friend in Kaduna where they went to the same college in 1984.
“Many people don’t know that me and Kumbi are childhood friend right from Kaduna and he knows all my family members likewise me too.
“We were together for many years on the streets of Kaduna during our youth days and I thank God today for our status,” the Prince of Kaima explained.
Mallam Idris also praised the Kwara state Governor for Kumbi Titiloye’s appointment as Kwara United chairman claiming that his old pal is the perfect man for the job.
“Everybody know that Kumbi is a good administrator and marketer, and his records are there for all of us to see in which I must thank Governor Abdulrahman for this.
“He brought Jose Mourinho to Kwara state when he was at the KFA and has more than 100 players he has helped to get clubs in Europe.
“I am sure that he will take Kwara United to the height we Kwarans will be proud of,” Kwara FA Chairman Idris Musa stated.
Meanwhile, Kwara state government recently propelled Kwara United back to the NPFL after acquiring the slot of Delta Force.
And Kwara United first game after the acquisition was a superb 1-0 win against Nasarawa United in Lafia.
The victory took Kwara United from the bottom of the table to 13th position and they will face Kano Pillars in their next game this weekend.
