Kogi United Football Club, Family Worship Centre (FWC-Champions FC) and City Football club will be campaigning in the Nigeria national league when the new season begins on Friday 11 February, 2022.
Kogi United , strongly backed by governor Yahaya Bello have acquired the slot of Rarara Football club of Katsina, FWC Champions FC took over the space of Junior Danburam while, City FC are now owners of the spot formerly occupied by Delta Force FC of Asaba.
All procedures and formalities of the transfers and handover agreement of the status have been concluded by all the clubs involved and the Nigeria national league certifying the arrangement by the clubs.
Speaking to NNL Media and Communications department, Chief Operating Officer of the league Mr. Emmanuel Adesanya said “key stages of the slots transfer have been concluded by the parties involved, and we at NNL are critically studying the documents submitted to enable us grant them rights to compete in the league for the 2021/2022 season”.
When the rights to compete are granted, FWC-Champions Fc and City Fc who both based in Abuja will campaign in group A1 of the Northern Conference while, Kogi United Fc of Lokoja will battle in group A2 of the Northern Conference.
The 2021/2022 Nigeria national league is expected to kick off Friday 11 February, 2022 in both the North and South conferences with twenty two (22) matches in the first week.
