The President of Nationwide League One side Knights FC Of Ile-Ife Seeni Falonipe has dismissed talks of entering politics through football.
According to him, there are different ways a person could impact on their societies, saying that despite the fact that he knows so much about Nigerian politics, he won’t dwell into it now.
The United State Of America based Businessman was responding to talks that he could follow the footsteps of Some Club Owners and Football enthusiast like Alhaja Ayo Omidiran, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah Lawrence Ayeni and many others who used the round leather game to climb the ladder into mainstream politics.
” I have always loved politics and I have been studying the Nigerian Politics for a very long time now. My intentions are clear and am not interested in politics for now.
” Its not necessary that I use the advantage of being a club owner to join mainstream politics. Though I love anything grassroot and even if I am going to do politics, it has to be grassroot politics. Seeni told FUBF.
” We can achieve our objectives and our dreams for our community through other means and infact, this led me to establish Knights FC and my foundation, which cater for the needy in my community.
Seeni Falonipe is a philanthropist, an astute businessman, an investor and a soccer enthusiast. He holds an Associate Degree in System Information Technology from the Prince George Community College, Maryland, USA. He is the sole financier of Knights Football Club and Soccerfest Foundation.
