Director of Kingsgrant Football Academy, Odinanadu Kingsley Obi has revealed that the academy was set up in 2016 in order to develop raw talented players and and give them the platform to showcase their God given talents that are hidden.
Obi in a chat with sports 247.ng disclosed that the academy has been in existence since 2016 but noted that time has come to commence the programmes for the academy.
” Many people may not know us but we are affiliated with Lagos FA and football division.I just want to start the acadmey now and my vision for the club is to develop the players at the tender age and promote the good players that would attract foreign clubs,”he said.
He explained further that there are many young players who are roaming the streets and looking for academy to start their football career noted that Kingsgrant academy is ready to give young players the platform to showcase their God given talents.
Obi added that aside marketing the players to European clubs, he also said the academy was set up to discover players that may represent the country in both continental and Intercontinental football tourneys.
He revealed that the acadmey would commence it’s training session tomorrow at the spinal cord injuries association playground, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos.
Obi however disclosed that only the players within the age of 6 to 16 years are eligible to participate in the academy and urged the parents and guardians around Amuwo-Odofin and it’s environs to bring their wards who are interested in the round leather game to the academy playground.
“We are going to start our training session by 4pm and we have created serious awareness and I am happy that many parents, guardians and coaches are interested in bringing their wards to us.We have good package for our registered members because my vision for the academy is to be among the top five football academies in Nigeria, “he said.
