Kick To Glory, talents hunt initiative has been described as the future of and solutions Nigerian football is looking for.
Bonfrere Johannes, the Dutch tactician who led Nigeria to the historic Atlanta ’96 gold medal in the football event made this know after the Saturday’s match with Togo in the final African Nations Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria won the match, 2-0, but crashed to Togo 4-3 on aggregate. Bonfrere and two Chinese agents, all dressed in Nigeria’s home colours, were at the Agege Stadium, venue of the match.
” I want to say I am very impressed by the techniques, power, stamina, speed, skills, and passion displayed by these lads we have seen during this programme,”
” Let me also add that with some few technical inputs, these players discovered by Kick To Glory, are the future of Nigerian football. I am confident also that in some few years, they would dominate world football,” he enthused confidently.
The Coach also faulted Nigeria’s tactical approach to Saturday’s match with Togo, he remarked that the Nigerian forwards were playing too many high balls to a crowded Togolese defence line which had tall players and more often than not, had six to seven players defending.
He is in Nigeria with the Chinese who are scouts and agents for talent hunting in a football tournament being organised by Kick to Glory and the team are expected to leave Lagos this coming week to continue the search for talents.
