KG Sports Academy gave themselves a chance to fight for the Title in the in going Ika Grassroots Football League with a 2-1 Win over Rainbow FC on Thursday at their Gbenoba Grammar School home.
The Coach Ken Gadaffi Tutored team dominated the match from start to finish however conceeded the first goal when Ekpenisi Lugard beat the offside trap to lob the ball past Goalkeeper Elvis in goal for KG Sports in the 18th minute.
It was the 4th Game since the Director of KG Sports took over the team following a falter in the first round and the boys showed character to bounce back after conceding the first goal.

KG Sports Academy came out stronger in the second half with the introduction of golden boy Godsent ‘OBUZEME’ Benedict and the teenager provided the assist with his very first touch for Ozegbe Prosper to fire home to put the KG Boys in front.
Rainbow Coach Matthew tried to change things with the introduction of Captain Sampoto But the KG Defense Marshall by Destiny Uwezukwe and Big Do held tight.
The Pride of Agbor forged forward to score the icing in the cake with Skipper Joseph Ukah’s Trade mark free kicks but Rainbow Goalkeepers was up to the task.
KG won the tie 2-1 to consolidate their 4th position on the table making it 4 wins in a row since Director Ken Gadaffi took charge.
“We were very professional with our game, We Lost to them 2-0 in the first leg and so we knew they were content for a draw but after conceding we remained focused and got the win we deserved in the end” Coach Ken Gadaffi Stated moments after the match.
“Our target is to take each game at a time and see where we end because we didn’t do too well in the first round so have a lot of catch up to make” he lamented.
KG Sports Academy will take on bottom place Akumazi on Saturday in Week 13 of the IGFL.
