The KG Sports Foundation Cup 2020 has been slated to kick off Monday 2nd November 2020 with 4 Teams taking part in the 3 Weeks Mini League.
Director of KG Sports Foundation Dr KEN Gadaffi discloses this to sports247 after the fixtures was released.
“We Are happy to see football back and the youths being engaged positively” He stated.
“We hope these Tournament will continue to help Unearth budding talents from the grassroots” said the Special Adviser to the Olympic Committee of Cambodia who has been in the country Since the Covid 19 Lockdown championing Grassroots football Development.
Four teams are taking part in the League which will be played at the Gbenoba Grammar School ground.
Green Rangers, Winners FC and Owa Alero Tigers will join host KG Sports Academy in a Round Robin Two legged league format.
The Top two teams will play the finals to vie for the Trophy.
Prizes will be awarded to the Two Finalists and Tournament Top Scorer.
“it’s my little way of giving back to the society. I hope this Tournament will attract more philanthropists to support what we are doing here for the young players and hopefully we can take them to greater height” enthused Dr KEN Gadaffi who has helped revived grassroots football in Agbor in a short time.
The KG Sports Football Tournament was held in Mowe, Ogun State in 2019 with about 150 players from 6 academies taking part in the U13 Category. However this year’s Tournament is being held in Agbor in the U19 Category.
