KG Sports Academy on Friday defeated Giant Killers Ekuku-Agbor United by a Lone goal to top the group with 10 points.
A 68th-minute penalty kick from Midfielder Emmanuel Emefiele gave Pride of Agbor the 3 points and top of the group after 2 previous wins and a draw to finish 10 points.
Skipper Jude Obi was brought down in the box and Emefiele stepped forward and placed the ball in the bottom left corner to beat goalkeeper Uzochi.
Earlier before the goal, Ekuku Agbor missed the opportunity to go ahead after Kensington’s Effort from the penalty box was parried away by Goalkeeper Tobechi Ossy who is arguably the Goalkeeper of the Tournament so far.
The win gave KG 10 points while Ekuku Agbor finished second with 7 points. Superfly ended the group stage with no points haven lost all 4 Matches.
Winners FC defeated Rainbow FC by a Lone goal scored by Christian in the 68′ of the second half from a sublime Free kick.
The match was a mere formality match as the result has no impact on the group table.
Rainbow had secured the second spot after a 2-2 draw against Green Rangers on Thursday leaving them with just 4 points from 3 matches while Winners came into the match with a maximum of 9 points and made it 12 points to finish the group stage top of the group.
Winners FC will take on Ekuku Agbor United FC on Wednesday 9th June in the first Semifinals in Gbenoba Grammar School while KG sports Academy will travel East of Agbor to face Rainbow FC at the College ground.
The finals come up on Saturday, June 12th at College Ground.
