KG Sports 5 v 5 Challenge: Oracle Babes Top Table In Week 1

Oracle babes kicked start the 2023 KG Sports 5 v 5 Football Challenge with back to back wins to top the table with 6 points after week 1 fixtures took place this weekend at the Agbor township Stadium.

The 5 v 5 Football Challenge is being organized by KG Sports foundation with 7 teams taking part in the league expected to run until March 18 2023.

On Saturday, Oracle babes defeated KG Stars 2-1in the opening game before camp spiders edged out Rising Stars 3-2 in a 5 goals thriller.

On Sunday, KG Foundation beat Bob Eagles 5-4 following which Oracle babes triumphed over Gadaffi Rovers 2-0 in the second match of the day. Oracle babes are now top with 6 points followed by KG Foundation and Camp Spiders both with 3 points apiece.

David Oshola tops the goal scorers chart with 5 goals in one game. The 13 year old was outstanding in the match against Bob Eagles scoring all the goals to lead his side to a 5-4 win. Akorede Abdulateef is second on the scorers chat with 3 goals from 2 games while the tri of Solomon Mathew, Opeyemi Afolabi and Samuel have two goals each. Others who got on the score sheet in week 1 includes Rokeeb Alimi, Adeniyi Akorede and Favour Ngbakor.

“We want the lads to get used to playing competitive matches week in week out, so starting with 5 v 5 they would not only develop the winning spirit but also ball possession and team work” KG Sports foundation CEO Dr Ken Gadaffi enthused.

“About 40 players are taking part and we hope to recruit more players in the coming weeks” he added
