Heartland FC, in a bid to reverse their fortunes in the ongoing 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season, has appointed Kennedy Boboye as the club’s new Technical Adviser.
This move comes as a response to the team’s challenges under the previous coach, Christian Obi, who failed to secure a victory in the opening nine matches of the season.

Boboye, boasting an impressive track record of winning the league title twice with Plateau United in 2017 and Akwa United in 2021, has signed a one-year renewable contract with the Naze Millionaires.
The experienced coach is set to take charge and lead the team through a very important phase, beginning with the upcoming Oriental derby against Enyimba in Owerri.
In his first interview with Heartland FC Media, Boboye expressed his readiness for the challenging task at hand.
He acknowledged the initial reservations he had when approached for the role, given the club’s current position on the league table.

However, having assessed the situation on the ground, he is confident in the team’s potential to overcome the obstacles.
“I am ready for the task. I had different thoughts when I was contacted initially because of the club’s position on the league table, but with what I have seen on the ground, I am certain we can pull through,” said Boboye.
He emphasized the need for collective effort, promising a new mentality within the team.
As part of the restructuring, Charles Uzor has been elevated to the position of Head Coach, succeeding Willie Udube.
Additionally, Osuorji Linus Maduabuchi is now the new Team Manager, taking over from Victor Ezuruike, who has been redeployed to the club’s feeder team.
Chidi Ike, the head coach of the Heartland FC Feeder team, has been brought in to fortify the technical crew of the main team.
The changes aim to bring about a positive transformation and inject renewed energy into Heartland FC’s campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
