Kebbi Beach Soccer Club on Sunday in Abuja drew on experience to defeat Abuja Beach Soccer Club 8-4 and become champions of the maiden Abuja Beach Soccer Tournament.
In the final match at the Jabi Lake Park venue of the tournament, the team from Kebbi started the first period strongly against a free-scoring Abuja side.
Team captain Hammed Kareem grabbed an early hat-trick in a period totally dominated by the Birnin Kebbi-based side and it ended a disappointing 8-4 against the high-scoring Abuja BSC who scored a total of 23 goals in the three-day tournament.
Kareem, who was fantastic throughout the tournament, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
Kwara Beach Soccer Club’s Emeka Ogbonna, who scored a total of 11 goals in the tournament, was presented with the Highest Goal Scorer’s medal.
