Kebbi Fishers, Anambra Warriors Chase Consecutive Wins in 2024 National Beach Soccer League

Title holders Kebbi Fishers and Anambra Warriors will aim for a second win on the bounce as they battle each other in today’s opener of day 2 action at the Nigeria Beach Soccer League NBSL in Kaduna.

Two goals each from Hassan Abdullahi and Fuwad Badmus helped the Africa’s top ranked team Fishers to a 6-2 hammering of rivals Kebbi United BSC yesterday while Anambra Warriors edged Kada BSC 5-4.

Kada and Kebbi United will clash in today’s second game at 5pm with both teams badly in need of a win.

For a Kada victory to unfold, their consecutive league top scorer Dozie Frank will have to come to the party after yesterday’s brace that counted for little in the 4-5 loss against Warriors.

Despite Kada’s loss, the Kaduna State Sports Commissioner Alhaji Mukhtar Abdullahi is optimistic that the team will rebound in subsequent games to nick the title.

“It wasn’t demoralizing. I want to assure you that in their next match, you will see what they are going to do and I want to assure you that we are going to be the winners of this league. Take it from me,” he said.

“By the grace of God, the national team camp will start on Sunday. We are in discussion with the NFF and I want to assure you that it is going to be well.”
