Kazeem Eletu Pick Final Ticket, As Imo Strikers Engage Ubakala In ‘Mother Of All Battles

Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens Football Club of Lagos yesterday emerged as the first team to qualify for the final round of the NWFL Nationwide League leaving them with just one game to grab the promotion ticket to play in the women’s professional league, the NWFL Championship.

Eletu Queens moved up the ladder after defeating Castmog FA of Ogun 2-0 yesterday and topped the table with unassailable six points.

The second place team in Group B2, Fortress Queens of Benin have 2points, going into the last group game today.

They will play their last group game against Eletu Queens at the School of Health Technology at 1 pm today, while Castmog (1point) host FC Niger Amazon (1point) at 3 pm.

Today, the mother of all battles will be seen in Group B1, between Imo Strikers Queens and Ubakala Queens of Abia at the School of Health Technology.

It’s going to be Oriental war between the two teams with six equal points, but a superior +10 goal difference for Imo, compared to Ubakala’s +3 GD.

What Imo Strikers just need is a simple draw to advance to the final round, while Ubakala Queens must defeat the Imo Girls to advance.

In Group A1, Lakeside Queens of Lagos topped the table with 6points. They need just a goalless draw against Celestial Queens, to pick the group’s lone ticket to the final round, at 9 am at the Western Boys Stadium, if Abruka Queens of Kwara do not beat Ijebu United Queens with as many as six unreplied goals. Abruka Queens have 3points going into today’s last game after losing 2-0 to Lakeside and beating Celestial Queens 3-1in yesterday’s game played at the Western Boys Stadium at 11 am.

In Group A2, the battle of wits will be between table toppers, Delta Babes and Papa Soccer Academy of Lagos, as the two teams will slug it out at 1 pm at the Western Boys Stadium. The two teams need a win to advance to the final round. In a situation of a goalless draw, Papa Soccer Academy will advance to the final round as Group A2 leaders with four goals scored against Delta’s three.
Ekiti Queens and Society Teen Girls are the weeping teams of Group A 2.

The four top teams at the end of today’s last group games will play in the final round of the NWFL Nationwide league on April 27, to pick the teams that will be promoted to the NWFL Championship, the professional cadre of the NWFL League.
