Katsina United Chase Victory Away To Abia Warriors, Coach Says They Play Better Without Pressure From Fans

Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia may be in for a shock during their next home game in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), sports247.ng reports.

This follows a declaration by the coach of their next opponents, Katsina United, that his side will play for an away win in Umuahia.

The Katsina-based side’s tactician, Bishir Sadauki believes his team can win in the Abia State capital because they play better when not under pressure from their fans.

Although Katsina beat Remo Stars of Ikenne 2-0 at the weekend, Sadauki hinted that pressure from the teeming home fans almost scuttled their chances at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

Sadauki admitted it was a very tough game, then quickly interjected: “The most important thing is to get the required three points.

“We thank Almighty Allah that gave us the victory. We also thank the government and our club’s management for always being behind us.

“We also thank our supporters that turned out en masse to cheer the team. I believe they’ve done what they are supposed to do
“When we are feeling under pressure, the fans are there for us. So, we thank God for the victory.”

Sadauki also acknowledged the role played by providence in the victory over Remo Stars, as he noted that a team’s gameplan does not work out all the time.

“All the tactics we input in training we expect to see them in matches.

“Sometimes, if there’s a lot of pressure from the fans, the players cannot do what they want.

“When we go out of Katsina, we execute our plan and get a point away from home.

“So, when we return to Katsina, we want to continue, because that is the most important venue for us,” Sadauki reasoned.

He then affirmed his side’s chances of winning their next game in Umuahia, considering that the NPFL now offers a level playing ground for all teams.

“The way the league is going, any team can be beaten at home.

“So, anywhere we go, I always tell the boys that we should play for victory.

“If we sometimes lose at home, it means we should also go away to defeat the host and, that way, we’ll complement our efforts after any loss at home,” Sadauki theorised.
