Ka’oje Charges Rohr To Prepare Well For AFCON 2019

Former minister of sports, Bala Bawa Ka’oje has charged Super Eagles’ technical adviser, Gernot Rohr and his assistants to ensure they prepare the team in the best way possible for next year’s Africa Cup of Nation.

Following the Eagles’ qualification with a 1-1 draw away to South Africa last Saturday, which will see Nigeria return to AFCON contention, Ka’oje said in an interview with sports247.ng that they should start frenetic and adequate preparations immediately.

The former minister noted that the build-up towards Cameroon 2019 must be even better than what Nigeria had before going to South Africa to win the competition in 2013.

Ka’oje stated: “I congratulate the Super Eagles for qualifying for the Cup of Nations, but it does not end there.

“Now is the time for the handlers of the team to start preparing. They must prepare well in order to win the trophy.

“Although the Eagles will be participating in the competition for the first time since 2013, when they won it, they should not aim for glory again.”
