The Kano State Commissioner for Water Corporation, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, alongside his team, paid a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Water Resources, Hon. Damilola Otubanjo.
The visit aimed to enhance collaboration on improving water supply and advancing sustainable initiatives.

Discussions centered on strengthening inter-agency cooperation in alignment with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, focusing on expanding access to clean water and improving resource management.
Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa emphasized the critical role of collaboration between government bodies, private sector stakeholders, and development partners in addressing water-related challenges.
He highlighted ongoing projects in Kano aimed at improving clean water access and advocated for knowledge-sharing to drive innovation in water sustainability.
In response, Hon. Damilola Otubanjo welcomed the engagement, reaffirming the government’s dedication to fostering strategic partnerships that support SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation for All.
Both officials agreed to explore Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and leverage technology-driven solutions, as well as community engagement, to ensure long-term water sustainability.
The visit represents a crucial step toward strengthening intergovernmental cooperation in securing water resources and promoting sustainable development across Nigeria.
